Posting Policies

General Buildingbargains.com.au Posting Policies

At Buildingbargains.com.au we want to make sure that the site is as clean, friendly and usable as possible for everyone. Ads that fall outside the posting rules stated in our Help sections or terms of use may be removed from the site.

You are solely responsible for all information that you submit to Buildingbargains.com.au and any consequences that may result from your post. We reserve the right at our discretion to refuse or delete content that we believe is inappropriate or breaching our terms of use. We also reserve the right at our discretion to restrict a user’s usage of the site either temporarily or permanently, or refuse a user’s registration.

General reasons for ads placed on hold or deleted are:

  1. Against policy
  2. Against applicable laws. It is the responsibility of the advertiser before posting an ad on Buildingbargains.com.au that content advertised adheres to Buildingbargains.com.au posting policies as well as applicable laws. As a condition of your use of Buildingbargains.com.au specified under our Terms of Use, you agree that you will not violate any laws
  3. Duplicate of another ad posted by you
  4. Posted under wrong category (You must choose the single most relevant category for your ad)
  5. We only accept ads in English (Buildingbargains.com.au is an English speaking site and to make sure that the site is usable for everyone we only accept ads that are in English, although translations in other languages in addition to English text is ok)
  6. No overseas ads accepted, Buildingbargains.com.au is only for Australian residents
  7. No website links to other property / job / classified or auction sites
  8. Not descriptive enough (Ads that do not provide enough detail will be placed on hold or removed as this makes for a bad browsing experience)
  9. Appears to be a copy of another ad posted on Buildingbargains.com.au (You may not copy other user ads, you ad must be original)
  10. Inappropriate language
  11. Inappropriate photo / image
  12. Discriminatory on race / religion / nationality
  13. Location, price or URL’s in titles
  14. Ads that report other fraudulent ads. Please report potentially fraudulent ads directly to buildingbargains.com.au with ad details (ad id, email address) and reasons why these ads should be reviewed

Buildingbargains.com.au reserves the right to remove any postings that we feel are not relevant, or of value to the Buildingbargains.com.au community, with or without notice

There are several ways that your ad may be found to be breaching policy and removed from the site including:

  1. Your ad has been reported to us.
    When this happens your ad may be temporarily suspended (this depends on a few things) until we look at it.
    We check reported ads as quickly as we can. As long as we find that it hasn’t broken any posting Policies or Terms of Use it should be back up again shortly. Check back after a few hours to see if this is the case.
  2. Your ad has been removed by our moderation tools
    Ads either identified by our automated tools as inappropriate, that we then find do break our posting Policies or Terms of Use will be removed from the site.

In most cases we email you to let you know when we have had to remove your ad. These emails sometimes get directed to junk folders so please look out for Buildingbargains.com.au emails. If your junk / spam settings are set at high, then Buildingbargains.com.au emails may not even be delivered to the spam / junk folder. You may wish to add Buildingbargains.com.au to your safe senders list if you have one).
